What we collect

If you join the newsletter or Reader Club, we collect your email address — plus, only if you choose to share them, your first name, your birthday month (just the month — never the day or year), and a mailing address for the occasional birthday postcard. All of it is stored with MailerLite, our newsletter provider, under their privacy policy.

How it's used

Your email is used to send you book news and — if you use the Reader Club — to send login links and remember your reading progress. The site also keeps simple, first-party reading statistics (which chapters get read, how far readers get) so Jessie can see what's working; readers appear in those statistics only as anonymous codes, never as email addresses. Nothing is ever sold or shared, and there is no third-party ad tracking.

Comments and reactions

Reader Club members can leave comments ("letters") on chapters under a display name of their choosing; those are visible to other readers, and Jessie can remove them. Chapter reactions are simple counters. Neither ever displays your email address.

Cookies

The site sets a cookie when you log in to the Reader Club (so you stay logged in for 30 days) and uses your browser's local storage to remember your theme and your place in each book. There is no advertising and no third-party tracking.

Unsubscribing and deletion

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing also ends Reader Club access, since free reading is a subscriber benefit. If you'd like your data deleted entirely — your subscriber record, comments, and reading progress — email jessiemichaelswrites@gmail.com and it will be removed.

Consent and where data lives

Subscriptions use double opt-in: nothing is stored until you confirm from your own inbox. Reading statistics identify readers only by anonymous codes. MailerLite may process data on servers in the EU and the United States; this site is operated from the United States. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
